The SL 178 lift-and-slide system creates an extremely cosy atmosphere thanks to the high-quality wood, ease of use and all the usual impressive technology customers have come to expect from Solarlux.

It is equipped with an accessible floor threshold and tried-and-tested lift-and-slide technology on its bottom-running fittings.

The range of carriage variants on offer guarantees extremely convenient operation, even with heavy panel weights.

  • Configuration A: two-part, one sliding panel.
  • Configuration C: four-part, two central panels sliding.

PROFILE SYSTEMS | SIGHT LINES

Profile Systems:

  • Accessible floor threshold in accordance with DIN 18040 with 5mm raised running track.
  • The floor threshold is a combined profile comprising a multi-chamber plastic and aluminium profile with outstanding thermal insulation properties and high stability.
  • Optional accessible step threshold with concealed drainage or flat treadplate available, plus optional 20mm or 50mm weatherboard.
  • Aluminium, anodised silver profiles.
  • Side and top sub-frames made of square wooden jambs with continuous top layer available in lengths of up to 4m (depending on type of wood), or up to 6m with finger-jointed top layers. Larger sub-frames are joined together.
  • Panel profiles made of laminated, square wooden window jambs.
  • Panel spacing: 28mm.
  • Variety of woods available.
  • Variety of colour wood finishes available.

Sight Lines:

  • Floor threshold: 0 to 50mm.
  • Sub-frame: 56mm.
  • Panel profiles: 78mm.
  • Panel forend: 78/161mm.

SEALING SYSTEM | GLAZING | FITTINGS

Sealing System:

  • After lowering, the sliding panel seals against the floor threshold and the closure section with two layers of seals.
  • At the top and the centre closure, there are two multi-chamber, plastic sealing rails with additional seals that intermesh to create a thermal barrier between the climate inside and outdoors and provide stability and a high level of impermeability to wind and driving rain.

Glazing:

  • Suitable for use with glass thicknesses of 24–42mm.
  • Wet glazing with glazing tape is provided for glazing on site.

Fittings:

  • Concealed lift-and-slide fitting with a convenience gear unit with 180°. toggling reduces torque when lifting and prevents the lever from whipping. back unexpectedly when the panel is lowered.
  • The convenience gear unit can be retrofitted with a profile cylinder.
  • Locking mechanism with burglar-resistant bolts.
  • Aluminium, anodised silver lever.
  • The sliding panel is fitted as standard with a lever on the inside and a handle shell on the outside.
  • As an option, it can be fitted with levers with profile cylinders on both the inside and the outside.
  • Compact carriage unit built into the bottom of the panel.
  • Choice of two carriage variants: panel weight up to 200kg and panel weight 200 to 400kg.
  • Top sliding panel guided by guide rail with roller guide.

PANEL SIZES | ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

Large Panel Sizes:

  • Panel width: 820 to 3335mm.
  • Panel height: 1175 to 3325mm.

Additional Equipment:

  • Optional floor threshold equipment: accessible step threshold or flat treadplate and weatherboard with 20 mm or 50 mm projection.
  • As an option, it can be fitted with levers with profile cylinders on both the inside and the outside.
  • An optional soft closer can be built into the top of the sliding panel. The soft closer automatically pulls the sliding panel into the closed position. For panels that are 1100 mm or wider, a second soft closer can also be added for the opening position to prevent body parts from getting trapped in the system.
