Bowerley Gardens Project

We are proud to have been part of the Bowerley Gardens Project, a unique and highly ambitious PASSIVHAUS new build tucked into the Yorkshire landscape. This stunning subterranean home is built into the hillside and finished with local Yorkshire stone, blending beautifully into its surroundings while meeting some of the highest standards in energy efficiency and building performance.

For this project, Uno Windows and Doors supplied and installed Internorm KS430 lift and slide doors along with an Internorm entrance door. These are triple-glazed UPVC/aluminium-clad units, specifically designed for energy efficiency and long-term performance. The KS430 doors are PASSIVHAUS-certified, which means they meet rigorous standards for insulation and airtightness, perfect for a home where energy performance was a top priority.

The standout feature of the Bowerley Gardens Project is the use of six large Internorm KS430 sliding doors, each fitted with expansive panes of triple-glazed glass. These doors do more than just provide incredible thermal performance, they open up the living spaces to the outdoors, flooding the interior with natural light and creating a strong visual connection to the surrounding landscape. With flush thresholds, the transition between inside and out is seamless, supporting a lifestyle that embraces both comfort and openness.

It was a pleasure to be involved in such a technically challenging and visually striking project. This home is a great example of how thoughtful design and high-specification materials can come together to create something truly special.
